Vic Masters Championship

The Vic Masters Championship pre-dates the Victorian Blood Bowl Association by a couple of years, first launched in 2019 by the organisers of Victoria's four regular Blood Bowl tournaments. The plan was to create an overarching annual championship that would encourage coaches to attend all four tournaments and help boost numbers by awarding championship points at each event. At the end of each year various awards are handed out to the those coaches with the most points in each category.

The original Vic Masters Championship ran successfully in 2019 before it fell victim to COVID and the ensuing reduced and irregular tournament schedule. It returned in 2022 but with only three tournaments in its lineup after "Mayhem on Malop Street" unfortunately didn't happen.

The Vic Masters returned in 2023 but with a much boosted line-up. Each year the Victorian Blood Bowl scene just gets better and better, and 2025 has a huge lineup of events.

Participation Requirements

There are NO MINIMUM number of Vic Masters tournaments that a coach needs to attend to be eligible to participate in the championship. It is of course encouraged to attend as many as possible, and since the winner will be the coach with the highest combined points total, obviously the more tournaments you attend will increase your chance of winning the championship.

Coaches will choose points from a MAXIMUM of FOUR tournaments to contribute to their final combined points total. This allows some leeway for those coaches who are not able to attend all five tournaments, or for those coaches who perhaps want to play a different or unfamiliar team at one of the tournaments in the calendar.

Qualifying Tournaments

For a tournament to qualify to contribute to the rankings to Vic Masters Championship, it should follow the same basic guidelines as those for the Vic Coach Rankings. In addition the tournament organiser must demonstrate a good track record in running successful tournaments, and the tournament should run on a regular, annual basis.

A Vic Masters Championship approved tournament should be:

(a) Based in Victoria

(b) Minimum of 12 coaches

(c) Open to all coaches to attend (ie. the tournament cannot be a private event amongst friends)

(d) NAF-registered (this is to ensure the tournament format and ruleset has been reviewed and approved by the NAF)

For 2025, the qualifying tournaments are:

1. Gold Crush - Ballarat

2. Block, Tackle, Pow - Pakenham

3. Risky Rollers Autumn Cup - Mt Waverly
